I'm trying to effigy out quite why I find this volume so delightful. Information technology can't but be because I used to accept a beloved blackness Labrador called Emerge (well, okay, yes she was a Labrador cross - the vet said she was quite mayhap crossed with a Pug (in that location's no accounting for taste, is there?!) - and her hips were obviously non Lab). I loved my Sally. Just that doesn't mean I accept to love a book about another black Lab called Sally. It could have been one of those ho-hum books that the children borrow I'k trying to figure out quite why I find this book then delightful. It can't just be because I used to have a love black Labrador called Sally (well, okay, yes she was a Labrador cantankerous - the vet said she was quite possibly crossed with a Pug (at that place'southward no accounting for taste, is there?!) - and her hips were obviously not Lab). I loved my Sally. But that doesn't mean I accept to beloved a book about some other black Lab chosen Sally. It could have been one of those deadening books that the children borrow from the library and you feel obliged to read aloud to them even though the prose is boring, or worse (!) it's in rhymes and they plod. Or information technology could accept been i of those so terribly desperately written books that they manage to skid by me, but I refuse to read aloud because I only can't bring myself, even through clenched teeth.

Instead, this book is simple merely honest. The illustrations are woodcut prints - plain colours, uncluttered shapes, and with lovely expressions on Sally'south face. Completely dog, none of that anthropomorphism that is in and so many children'due south books. The words are straightforward besides.

It's written with the intention of helping children to be okay well-nigh a pet having to go to the vet, and possibly most themselves having to go to hospital or the doctor. Merely it's too perfectly satisfying to any reader.

I read this for our Customs Helper storytime this week. The kids enjoyed Sally's perspective and the book is sure to requite new vocabulary and help the reader learn all nearly how the vet isn't scary. A helpful book to use to and then discuss doctor'southward visits, too.

What a charmingly pleasant book! The illustrations, of grade, are the star here, but the actual story is great, too. Information technology'due south a simple tale about a domestic dog who gets a pocket-size injury and has to go to the vet. The fact that there is a squirrel in the waiting room earns bonus points. :) Information technology's a great volume to read with little ones who worry most going to the doctor. What a charmingly pleasant volume! The illustrations, of course, are the star here, just the bodily story is great, too. It's a simple tale about a domestic dog who gets a small-scale injury and has to get to the vet. Sally, a black lab dog, plays with his cat friend and gets hurt. Sally goes on a trip to the Vet. She learns that the Vet is very nice.
The artwork style of Stephen Huneck is very distinct. Yous can see individual flecks of hair on the animals featured in the volume. The words are very elementary and yet convey lots of pregnant.
This book is a wonderful book for all dog lovers to read. It is a practiced book to read aloud to young children and is also suitable for older children to read on their own. Personal reaction: I thought this book was beautiful, especially considering of the loving human relationship between Sally and the cat, Bingo. I also liked the bravery of Sally as she goes to a new place.

A great big friendly book most Sally the dog going to the vet - I love to recommend these kind of books for parents looking for books for children afraid of doctors or existence hurt. It is much easier for children to read about animals getting hurt, going to the vet's, getting mended, than another child in the same situation. THis book and the cracking book, The Broken True cat, have been very well received. A groovy big friendly book about Sally the canis familiaris going to the vet - I love to recommend these kind of books for parents looking for books for children afraid of doctors or beingness hurt. It is much easier for children to read about animals getting hurt, going to the vet's, getting mended, than another kid in the same situation. Sally is a funny blackness Labrador who is gorgeously illustrated in this fantastic series by Stephen Huneck. Sally hurts herself while playing with Bingo the Cat, and has to be rushed to the vet. Kids volition experience worried for her, and feel her fright, merely all ends well, with a the very loving and caring vet. A great story for kids with pets that need to meet a vet, or even a doctor themselves!

Sally Goes to the Vet was a nice read. This book introduced the job of a veternarian to the children and they were able to see that pets take to become to the doctors just similar children do. THis is a great book to read when talking well-nigh community and customs leaders. I would recommend this book to a child that loves animals, to assist show them that when they get older they tin can still beloved and help animals.

This is a beautiful story with colorful, glossy, woodcut illustrations, and a not bad mix of big bold colors and detailed patterns. Thats only the illustrations. the volume itself is very entertaining also. The dog is out at play and gets hurt and must blitz to the vet, while their she gets checked for everything and uses her imagination when told to recollect of a happy identify. This is a slap-up story to help introduce animals and having to get to the vet. it is a great read for pre-school-2d grade.

Sally is the dog in this story that gets hurt and needs to become to the vet. This is a good book to aid children empathise what a vet is and how it is like to a doctors visit. This could be something a dog lover would bask.
